The nomination period for the 2024 Somos Seattle awards starts 3/12/2024 and ends 5/31/24.
Honorees will be recognized for lifetime achievements at our annual Pride Reception on 6/21/2024.
We welcome your help in nominating leaders who deserve recognition.
Legacy Award:
Somos Seattle Legacy Award is meant to honor & recognize the contributions of Washington’s LGBTQ Latinx individuals who have left a positive generational impact in our communities that have advanced the rights, dignity, services and/or representation of LGBTQ Latinx folks. LGBTQ Latinx folks have positively transformed structural, social, systemic and/or cultural spaces in the broader LGBTQ and/or Latinx society. Let’s recognize, uplift, and celebrate these accomplishments in our community today.
Nominees for Somos Legacy Leader Awards should meet these criteria:
Demonstrate a record of public leadership and dedication to LGBTQ causes.
Serve as role models and mentors to others over the years.
Contribute to the appreciation and recognition of LGBTQ & Latinx communities in Washington State.
La Resistencia Award:
Somos Seattle La Resistencia Award recognizes exceptional community members and innovators who work to improve our community. The challenges facing our LGBTQ & Latinx community are complex and we need courageous leaders willing to join the revolution to fix them. No matter how small or grand all activism efforts play a role, the values and commitment of these individuals are essential to elevating and resolving the challenges our community faces.
Each generation has a role to play in this work.
Nominees for the Somos Resistencia Awards should meet these criteria:
Identified issues impacting the LGBTQ and/or Latinx Community
Launched into action to improve or resolve the challenges facing the LGBTQ and/or Latinx community.
Demonstrated courageous leadership through their work.
